New Jersey

Great to see a Thread for New Jersey. I live up North West in Sussex County. I currently have 14 hens and 3 roosters of differing breeds with an emphasis of lavender ameraucanas, 8 pullets about 3 weeks old, and 37 easter egger eggs in the incubator. I am also on a waiting list for silkied ameraucana hatching eggs.

If anyone wants easter eggers with a chance of lavender and black ameraucanas let me know. They are $5 each and will hatch 4/13/2014.

I look forward to following all you great New Jerseyans.

I put my chicks in the coop today.... First night in their own. I feel so silly for how nervous I am!! Ugh... Gonna be a long night!
Welcome to the thread! I was like that the first chicks I had, as long as the coop is secure they will be fine.

Welcome, we are nearly neighbors. I am in Montague. I drive through Sparta at least once a month these days.

Hey NJers! Spring is here -- FINALLY!!!! Wooooo!!! My girls are laying again and the grass is turning green again! I have a few 5 month old bantam Cochins for sale if anyone nearby is looking to add to their flock! (Gotta make room for the 15 eggs going in the incubator!) https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/871888/bantam-cochins-5-months-old

How did your flock survive the arctic winter?? Any newbies from Moorestown area?? (That's where I am.) Give me a shout if anyone has questions!

Yay! Isn't it liberating??? I love having the chicks in the brooder for about 2 weeks and then I start getting anxious to get them in the coop. Of course, I never break down the brooder since there is always another group going in.

Are you selling chicks?

Are you selling chicks?
I believe it was clear in my intro to this thread, but yes I do sell easter egger chicks. This makes me wonder about forum rules...was i allowed to mention that in my post? If not, I do apologize, but if so, great. These chicks are Easter eggers because 2 roosters are lavender ameraucanas, and 1 blue ameraucana over multiple breeds, such as lavender, black, and blue ameraucanas, buff brahma, white leghorn, blue copper marans, polish, and easter eggers.

Does anyone in the Sussex/Warren county areas have any 6-8 week old chicks or ducklings available? I had a predator attack last night and it left one duckling all by herself. She's very lonely :( I would like to find her a friend (or two or three) that's about the same age.
Thanks!

I am so sorry to hear that you had an attack. I hope someone jumps in here with some buddies for your survivor. I don't have anything that age at the moment.
