I haven't seen anything but sexlinks and meat birds mostly at the TSC in Blairstown or Flanders. Are you getting a shipment from a hatchery? If so can you add them on to that shipment? Once my silkies pullets start laying I will be hatching and I am sure that I will have some cull chicks available at some point but I can't guarantee it will be April. I will be hatching EE's to but I'm not sure when yet.

The hatchery I went with doesn't have any tinted egg layers at the time I need them and I don't really want 5 silkies (they have a 5 breed minimum). The TSC in Sussex is supposed to have a mix of bantams and EE LF, so I am hoping that I can identify a silkie in that bantam bin... I was only hoping for sometime around when the others arrive so that I don't have to go through complicated introductions and two brooder sessions so close together (I am a newbie and am trying to minimize complications). Of course, if it is a bit older then it might not be a big deal at all.

Ah, I didn't know there was a TSC up in Sussex. Hopefully they will have what you are looking for. I'm told that the feed store by Ross's Corner has chicks sometimes.

I will check that one out too. With the 6 chick minimum I will still be pushing it a bit. If it doesn't work out I will just have to wait and see what yourself and others on BYC have. I am discovering that it is hard to be chick patient. I would have had them delivered already if I didn't need to travel at the end of the month

Hey NJ chicken peeps!

I wanted to update you all on my chick chat. I have decided i am going to sell some Hot Dogs and Sodas that day to raise money for the 4-H Fancy Feathers club. The money we earn on the sales is going to go to getting some new cages for those kiddos! So...come hungry.

I'm in Ocean County and have a bantam SLW hen that I need to find a home for. She's been picking on my silkie for the past few weeks and I have to find her a good home as a pet. She was born on July 4, 2010. If intersted, message me. I'm really hoping someone will take her and give her a good home. I just can't stand to see her picking on my bantam silke anymore.

Getting my cages ready for travel and display for your shindig! Still trying to decide who to bring to show off. If only I had more dog crates!/ See you Saturday! My goal is to make it by noon, but let's not hold our breath.

Hey, do you have a table for the cages to go up on? It's hard to get the birds out when I have to get down on the ground.

How many dog crates do you need? I can probably help you out.
