Hi everyone. I'm really sorry to not see this article till now, very late. I hope many submitted letters to the editor on its heels to correct misinformation. I've done this whenever possible and wish to be able to do more often. Would like to live long enough to see chickens get more respect!

Newspapers/magazines etc have for too long gotten away with sloppy reporting.

Hi everyone. New joiner in Somerset County. Really excited to get some hens for my young family. Moved a coop from Jackson up to my place this weekend. A ton of work, but really happy about it. If anyone has point of lay hens in the following breeds that they would be willing to sell, or knows someone that does have them for sale, I would be incredibly grateful for an introduction. Advice is always welcome too!! Many thanks and happy to be here.

Silver-laced or Blue-laced Red Wyandotte
Blue or Black Australorp
A good looking Speckled Sussex
Blue Ameraucana

All the best,
Leo

Someone will probably chime in about chickens. Most people who hatched chicks in spring will have 7 - 10 week olds right now, not quite point of lay, but close. In the mean time, let us know if you have any questions, there are a great group of people in here that are always willing to help out.

Hi I am looking for a frizzled feathered bantam or smaller sized breed that lays colored (blue/green or even dark chocolate brown)
Does anyone have any frizzled feathered young (under 6 months) pullets for sale?
I tried and hatched serma & polish with frizzle gene but only got straight feathered chicks. I love them but still want a frizzle feathered hen.
I have no preference on breed just looking now for blue, green or chocolate egg laying frizzle feathered young pullet over 4 weeks but under 6 months.
I'm not in a rush actually wont have coop up for another 2 weeks at least. My serama are 5 weeks old and my polish are 2 weeks old.

I have 2 week old frizzled polish available. Can't guarantee sex and they lay white eggs. But thought I'd just put it out there. If one does turn out to be a roo you can always use him to breed to an EE.

Thanks but looking for the colored egg layers (have 2 two week old polish chicks) and I can't keep roosters
Do breeding down the road not an option.

Woo, I love cowtown! My family goes there every year!

I'm from New Jersey too...Warren County! I live in Hope Township, to be exact.    Most people know it better as being the home of The Land of Make Believe.

I have all sorts of birds....from pigeons, to doves, and chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese! I have many birds for sale too, if anyone is interested! I put a post up in the B/S/T section.
