My hen abandoned eight eggs after hatching 14 keets. I discovered about an hour later that one of the eggs was hatching. I gathered them all, put them in a large pot with moist paper towel covered with terry towel. I heated another towel to cover the pot. All this is to keep them warm and moist. The one hatched, and I'm still watching out for the others. No activity yet that I can see.
When do they start to eat and drink, and what besides starter feed would it eat?
If anyone can help, I need your input.
Thanks,

Thank you for your post. My little one is doing fine, eating some and drinking some. It is in a box with a screen over the top, a towel covering one end to be a place to be sheltered. Since I posted, I discovered another egg with a live keet. I set up a light and crate and am trying to keep the egg warm and the air humid.
