New Lavender Split Pics.... (Dial Up Warning!)

Here are the newest pictures of my lavender splits. Their father was a lavender Silkie, and their mother(s) were black Silkie hens. They should all carry the lavender gene and when bred back to a lavender, I should get 50% full lavender babies, which is of course subject to murphys law. (Forgive the photography, I forgot to turn the flash off.)

Its been even more pleasing, to know that I am creating *MY* lavender lines from the ground up. I started with a lavender rooster from one breeder, and black hens from another, so they will be completely unrelated to anyone elses lavender lines.

Its nice to sit back and watch them develop, and see the fruits of your labor. A LOT of energy went into and is still going into these birds.
 
Congrats on your project. I can't wait to see your lavender babies because all I see posted of lavender silkies are hatchery ones, and well they are not very nice.
