I have a mixed breed hen that started laying several weeks ago and since her first few eggs, she lays a double yolk egg every day! She is about 25 weeks old and I didn't really expect any eggs to speak of until spring. I don't know what breeds she is , but she lays huge brown eggs. How common is it to lay a double yolk every day?

When pullets start laying, it isn't uncommon for them to lay double-yolked eggs. As their systems, mature, you generally see fewer of them, though.
