New layer question: how often should a new layer lay?

This is my first time too, my girl laid 5 days in a row, took a day off, then started right back up again. I did learn, it's about 26 hours between eggs. She had started with the first at 8am and by the time we got to day 5 she laid at 3:30pm. On day 7 she laid at 8:30am again. Interesting stuff for sure! Good luck with your pullets. :)
My ISA laid her first day at 10am, the next around noon, the third day was around 1pm. Day 4 was around 2pm. I didn't think she would lay today because she was so late yesterday, but today she laid at 11ish. She is the only that lays in that spot and I saw her in that spot around 10. Everyone including the cockerel was singing the egg song today, so I kept checking on them pretty regularly.

Gotta love the group sing-along egg song! :celebrate

One last question, since the cockerel is in the 10 week old group (a trip for feed resulted in more chicks), I have switched everyone to all flock 18% protein and put out a feeder of just crushed oyster shells. Those that have laid have good hard shells. Is there anything else I should supplement?
