My pullets are just getting old enough to lay (6 months old). My Light Brahma started on February 2 and has given me 7 eggs since them. Today's gift looks scratched...is this normal?

Might want to see if anyone needs a pedicure but usually that’s just from them shifting around in the nesting box.
Nothing at all to worry about.

Yep, it can happen....more common with dark brown/green eggs.

Actually her eggs are a bit smaller than I was expecting...she is my first ever to lay. Everyone has said they will get larger as she continues to mature. It weighs about 1oz
