new layers

    How long does it normally take for the chickens to start laying large eggs? Ours are laying small eggs still, she starting laying about 6 weeks ago.

    The longer they lay the bigger the eggs will get :0)

    I assume that your hens are of the "large breed" type and you expect to get large eggs at some point. In that case it takes a few months for them to begin laying large eggs. At two years, my hens lay "extra" large eggs. Big, beautiful, delicious. Be patient, they'll get larger with time! [​IMG]
