Hi there! I have a question and wondering if anyone would be helpful enough to answer it. :)
I right now I have one RIR and one Easter Eggger. I also live in Ohio (we have hot summers and cold winters). I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a Leghorn chicken consider we live in Ohio. Can Leghorns handle cold winters and hot summers?
    Thank you :)

I have leghorns here in MO, they did just as well as the other breeds.

If the winter is severely cold you can apply Vaseline to the comb, it does seem to help. My buff orpington roo has a very large comb that needs to be tended to when the weather gets very cold.

    Hi Hannah
I live in Wisconsin, here are my leghorns after their first winter. I also have a Brown leghorn who does excellent up here. They are not extremely cold hardy but they do well in the heat. I had no leghorns die this winter.

    Their combs usually do alright.
