Hiya! I agree with the temp answers. My 6 weekers have a very cool room with an open-topped brooder (just a plywood pen) and had a lamp (until a week ago) they huddled under when they wanted and were otherwise roaming all over. My 2 weekers still have a lamp, same cold room, open-topped. Everyone is happy and yup I let my dog sniff too! And yes mine would fly out if the sides had not been raised lol. In fact, my leghorn cockerel thinks it's funny to be standing the middle of the floor of the mudroom when I walk in

Welcome! I love this place! I've learned so much i think my brain is growing!! I've asked a lot of questions, some of them sort of goofy and everyone has been so helpful and kind. I got my first chicks 3/8. They are so cool!
