When you buy chicks, be sure to ask if they are straight run, or pullets. Unless you are willing to take the gamble on raising cockerels, I'd walk by the bins of straight run chicks, unless you know how to sex them.

yea I asked that feed store because I don't know how to sex the ameraucanas. I can do other breeds but ameraucanas I just have no experience with them as baby chicks but this is a great learning experience.
