In the picture you'll see I used a milk jug cap and drilled a little hole in the middle then used a little screw to attach it to the temperature control. For me it helped to grab on to it to minutely move the temperature control as such a little movement can make a big difference in the temperature. In the picture you will also see I put a mark in the cap to use as a reference point for adjustments. It doesn't instantly change so you have to walk away for a few minutes to avoid the temptation to adjust it more and let it settle out. Again good luck...
