New member and new chicken mama!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes! I pulled a "charlotte's web" on a silkie with wry neck who would be culled and grabbed her a companion which is an Black breasted red old english bantam

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just the two, looking to get more after I've got the setup for the babies!

I'm here to learn, grow, and make the best life for my chicks! The silkie is named Silvia and the OEBBR is named Pamina. They're around 5-6 weeks at this point and I'm already planning how to make a nice run for them. I'm gonna get a nestera coop next paycheck too!
Welcome to BYC!! :)

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Plastic coops are miserable to keep birds in, they sweat, they are cold, they are small, wooden coops are the only way to go. Chickens produce a LOT of moisture through breathing and pooping and this moisture needs to go somewhere other than them breathing it back in and plastic sweating it on them. Wood is insulating, absorbent, sturdy and healthy for all involved. Purchase a shed and convert it into a coop.

Good luck and welcome to our community!
