Hi everyone! I’m a mom of 3 human girls, 11 Muscovies, 9 silkies, a cat and a dog.
We’ve had chickens for a couple years now, (had 7 dropped on us when a friend of the family was unable to keep them anymore) with many learning mistakes behind us. We now have 9 chickens and 11 Muscovies. My husband and I also work full time but I have really been enjoying coming home everyday and spending time with the Muscovies (4 months) then with the 4 older silkies (5 months) in the outside coop, then lots of time with the 5 baby silkies (5 weeks).
My husband gets up and feeds them and lets them out before heading to work for the day and my daughters (mostly the 4 year old) and I get home and love on them, give treats and refresh their water.
I’ve always loved having the chickens but since I’ve been raising our recent flocks from chicks I’ve become consumed with learning it all and it’s become a great hobby for the family! We just love our feather friends!
