New member but for a sad reason :(

We have some very bitter weather here during the winter. one year our village set the state record of 32 below zero, the next day was 26 below. I can tell you no body went anywhere, the old car batteries way back them could not even be jumped started.

I see ducks and geese on the water whenever there are some open areas. When it's all iced over, they still sit on it.

Thank you so much for the info. That is great to know! Well, about the ducks and geese that is.

I've never heard of people keeping ducks inside their house! Well, unless they're babies or one is sick and needs some additional care. Maybe a garage or shed temporarily. I think if you could get any sort of outdoor shelter and a pool of water they would do fine. They tend to make a mess so that's why they live outside... all year.
I hope you'll be able to keep them. Good luck!

Keeping them outside is the plan. :) They do have an outdoor shelter that should be arriving sometime Monday, we just have to put it together once it arrives. The aunt seems to have backed off a bit since the last time I saw her, and I'm hoping that once she sees they are outside she'll have no reason whatsoever to complain. Fingers crossed...
