I come to this site all the time to answer questions! We have been raising our own chickens for 2 years now! We raise them for eggs and meat. I joined so I could ask a question that I have not seen on here. I have a 4 week old chick with a swollen comb. I don't know what would cause this. I can post pics too.

Ok thanks I will do that! It has been like that for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. It has not gotten worse and he doesn't appear to be in pain.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Definitely post on our Emergency link that Kelsie2290 gave you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. I see that your chick is either a Barred Rock (if its legs are yellow) or a Cuckoo Maran (if its legs are white or slate). Since I can't see the legs in the pic, I can't tell for sure. What kind of chickens do you have?

There's definitely a lot to like with them. Barred Rocks are a hardy, dependable, dual-purpose breed. Good luck with your BR flock.
