I come to this site all the time to answer questions! We have been raising our own chickens for 2 years now! We raise them for eggs and meat. I joined so I could ask a question that I have not seen on here. I have a 4 week old chick with a swollen comb. I don't know what would cause this. I can post pics too.

Ok thanks I will do that! It has been like that for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. It has not gotten worse and he doesn't appear to be in pain.

We are here to help in any way we can. I see that your chick is either a Barred Rock (if its legs are yellow) or a Cuckoo Maran (if its legs are white or slate). Since I can't see the legs in the pic, I can't tell for sure. What kind of chickens do you have?

There's definitely a lot to like with them. Barred Rocks are a hardy, dependable, dual-purpose breed. Good luck with your BR flock.
