I don't blame them. I don't know how they can say that some of the little chicken houses are "suitable for 3 chickens" or whatever..... My existing chicken house is not that big, but it's ONLY their "bedroom". I'd feel mean having them locked up in there all the time. They love digging everything up and finding bugs or whatever it is they look for. It's the same as us, it'd be harder to accept somebody who'd moved into our bedroom than into a large house with us.

CTKen, I've already posted another thread asking for suggestions. Response I received was "there's no best way, try something and change it if it doesn't work".

Those pre-built coops seem to always overstate how many chickens they will hold. That's one of the biggest complaints buyers have about them (that and the shoddy workmanship). They aren't cheap either. Our girls have a big coop and huge run but they love nothing better than to be out running around. I enjoy seeing them going about their chicken business too, there's no better show than chicken tv, lol.

hahaha and no surer indication of how indulged they are when you smile approvingly at the latest "performance". It's REALLY hot today. I got back from the shops to find 2 of them sitting in a little crater they'd dug for themselves AND I found it endearing.

This is the great stuff you can share here and we all "get it"! Try mentioning chicken antics to non-poultry people and you're bound to get some funny looks, lol.

@CTKen keep working on her, she's bound to come over to the "chicken side" sooner or later!

What breed do you have?  Is there a type that's scary?

Anything with wings that lays eggs is considered scary apparently! I just have commercial layers and not a rooster in sight! Bonkers stuff
