New member freaking out…..

Thank you so much! Im having a hard time understanding what pip is
The chicks will first pip, and you'll hear some talk about internal or external pips, but I only pay attention to that little hole you'll see in the egg. That's a pip.

A zip or zipping: That's when the chick works on that hole it made and goes around the egg enough so that it can push the top of the egg shell off. This process, from pipping to zipping to pushing the top off, takes a lot of work, and they will take many breaks, sometimes for hours. Some will pop right out it seems in minutes, and others can take several hours. If it goes over 24 hours from pip and no progress, that's when intervention may be needed, but otherwise, let them do their thing!

Update!! 9 out of 11 have hatched! Day 21 today, BUT I have 2 left and can NOT get the humidity up. I’ve put my stand up humidifier right next to the counter, added water and is still at 65 from 72. The last 2 do have a small crack started. They are on lock down, but I’m stressing out. Any kind words, thoughts? I really appreciate it.

What incubator do you have?

65% is fine!

Some just take their sweet time hatching, and it sounds like they've started. This could be many hours. I'd leave them be and check in a couple of hours. They can take up to 24 hours to hatch from their first pip.

i hope other 2 make it but 9 out of 11 is amazing for what im guessing is your first hatch ! sometimes life is hard and not everyone makes it but feel proud of how well you did already
Thank you!! So the chicks are doing awesome!! But I did put the two eggs back in the incubator. He did pip, but not much. BUT!! I heard chirping when I lifted her out again so I sprayed water on her and put her back. Someone said to give them a couple more days?

I wouldn't spray water directly on the egg. I generally spray the incubator lid.
I'm sure its fine, this is just for future reference.

A pip counts. If it's been 24 hours, I would help it.

If it's not too late, here's a great article that explains how to help them out.
