Wow, you've got it all going on!! Congrats on getting back to the country... that's exactly what we're planning, just may take a while longer. I would suggest still trying to socialize your dog to the chickens in a controlled setting (on leash)... teach him the "leave it" command and give high value rewards when he looks away. I have a blue pittie who was also just as crazy excitable and she now does great around my birds. Separating only works until it doesn't, just takes a minute for disaster to happen. At least when you take away the mystery, the chickens aren't quite so desirable.

Welcome! Glad you decided to join, nice intro! I have two dogs as well, the Staffi mix needed a little training and is good with the chooks, my other boy has only been with me for 2 months and needs a little training.... We’ll get there. Sounds like you’ve found your spot!!!
