My chicken wishlist, according to various sites, is Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Reds, Orpington, Faverolles, and Wyandotte, not nessesarily in order but definitely with Speckled Sussex numero uno, just because I think they're awesome and they were in an ebook I found of rare and endangered breeds. The most important thing is how good they lay, with a close second how they'll act around my little sisters.
4-h wasn't on my list of things to consider when choosing my breed, but there are some handsome chickies out there!! I've never done any 4-h before, but I've been jealous of all my friends who do that. Living out in the country, in a country school, I'm small percentage of students who've never done something related to showing animals! Fair grounds are always a social hotspot. Hang out long enough and you'll see half the school hanging out! I'm not even sure who to talk to about that, but if I could get myself and my sissies in that'd be fun and a huge family-binding activity!!
