New member from Oregon

Hello everyone!

My name is Stefanie and my husband, 2 kids and myself have been working on starting up a small family farm in Oregon.

We found a couple of free coops on Craigslist and fixed them up. We started out with 2 rhode Island reds and 1 white silkie that came free with one of our coops. In September we purchased 20 chicks from Meyer Hatchery and have absolutely fallen in love with chickens. We recently ordered more chicks from a local farm store and just successfully hatched one of our first eggs from our chicks we got in September!

My 7 year old daughter loves silkies and frizzles, and the Lavender Orpington chicks we just got.

Our grown up flock includes:
Rhode Island reds
Golden laced wyandottes
Green queens
A cochin bantam
Jersey giants
An Egyptian fayoumi

Our 2 roosters are a green queen and golden laced wyandotte.

Our newest babies: midnight majesty marans, ameracunas, black copper marans, black silkies, black frizzles, lavender orpingtons, speckled Sussex and our newly hatched baby is a rhode island red crossed with a golden laced wyandotte.

We absolutely love our chickens! We also have 6 ducks (2 golden layer 300s, 2 khaki campbells and 2 fawn and white runners). 2 kune kune piggies, a great pyrenees livestock guardian dog, a very special Nigerian dwarf goat that gets into trouble, and 2 pugs!

Happy to be here with you all!
Stefanie

Wow, you are off to the races! ChipDrop.com may get you free wood chips to help with Poo management, reduce mowing ect. O - Syt Helens IS near Portland? If you have separate Breeding Pens, I have some Cockerels to re-home, and may hatch again this month - and I don't need all the Chicks lol.
