There is also an excellent article at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html explaining the differences between Araucanas, Ameraucanas, and Easter Eggers. People often get confused about which they have as hatcheries frequently market Easter Eggers (which are hybrids that lay different colored eggs) under the label, Araucana (true Araucanas are tailless and lay only blue eggs) or Ameraucana (often misspelled by the hatcheries as Americana or Americauna). We have some Easter Eggers in our flock and they are my granddaughter's favorite hens. She loves the different colored eggs that they lay.
