I have had chickens for 2 years. I have 15 Red Sex Links and have learned alot from this website. I don't know why I didn't join sooner. Cant wait till Spring I'm going to go in another direction and get a new breed. Black Astralorps from Kurt at Rattlesnake Ridge. Can't Wait

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love both Black Sex Links (my favorite hens) and Black Australorps (my favorite standard breed). I think you will love the Black Australorps as they are extremely hardy, typically calm and gentle (good lap pets), and excellent layers of brown eggs (although not quite to Black Sex Link level).
