Hi I have also raised bantams! But I have never encountered this problem before. I have a one day old baby bantam that will not stay under the heat lamp and it keeps crying until I pick it up and hold it in my hand, then it falls asleep lol. Does the baby need the heat lamp or can it just sleep in the bed with me at night and in my little fuzzy blanket during the day. I raised other babies about 18 days old sleeping in my arms at night and they did fine. But this tiny one I now have I want it to be safe .. so can you please tell me the light or my body heat lolI've been raising chickens since I was 7 years old (22 years later and I have my own house with land to raise as many chickens as I want! Yippee!), I have 21 chickens at the moment; 1 cockeral, 9 hens and 10 chicks. These were hatched by 4 broodies. My favourite breed is pekin bantams for so many reasons, but I also love Araucanas, D'Anvers, D'Uccle and Silkies. I've also got my own incubator and regularly hatch my own broods. Really excited to join the community!
