Hi everyone,

I'm new to raising chickens and live in northern Colorado with my wife and kiddos. I only have three hens at the moment. We live on a couple of acres and we thought we'd try our hand at keeping some hens and we quickly realized there is a ton to know. We are avid gardeners and thought the chicken manure would help us in addition to eggs. Our hens are only about 3 months old so far and we've had them since they were 6 weeks old. I'm looking forward to learning more and getting some skill at keeping these cool birds.

Welcome, welcome, how have your chickens enjoyed this current storm? How much snow have you gotten up north?

I determined that if I got home from work and there were no chicken tracks in the snow I'd give them food and water in the coop before they go to roost. Well, no chicken tracks when I got home, but none of my own tracks or my dogs tracks from earlier in the day were visible anymore either! The snow just keeps coming!
