Hi I've raised chickens for over 20 years but recently moved and starting my new batch of chickens. I've so far got 2 roosters and a laying hen. This is just for my husband and my needs so only wish to have maybe 2 or 3 more hens. So that's about it for me and hope this is another wonderful experience

It's nice to have you here! I hope your 2 roosters aren't too hard on the hen and that they get along with each other ok.

Greetings from Kansas and :welcome! Great to have you aboard! I agree with NFC...even a single rooster for a lone hen may be excessive if he constantly pesters her to mate. I think 8-10 hens per rooster is the recommended ratio. Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Ten hens per rooster are the numbers I have seen. Poor hen, either she'll have to hide in the coop or run away from home.
