New member in southern Maine

Greetings from the north, bawk bawk! New to the site as a member and new to raising chickens myself, though I've spent my share of time on farms.

I just acquired half a dozen barred rock hens from my friend down the road who was going to cull them to make room for his large new flock of reds.

I've built my first coop which I'll post pics of later. I lurked here for a couple of weeks learning from others' mistakes and successes, thanks so much to everyone! This site is full of truly helpful info.
