(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new, wife had them as a young girl a long time ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None yet. Have a 12x12 raised bed built of 4x4's that would make a nice enclosure with coop inside. Probably looking to have 4-6 hens.
(3) What breeds do you have? None yet but doing research on hardy egg layers for Northeast. Possibly RI Reds.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Fresh eggs and engaging our young grandson in chicken care and interaction.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Golf, lake life, motorcycles.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We are parents of 2 adult girls, one still at home (still working on advanced degree). We have a young grandson as well.
