Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We've had chickens/ Turkeys for about 5 years and then took a year off. It was one of the reasons we wanted to move to the country.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?35 chicks
(3) What breeds do you have? Leghorn (6) Giant Jersey Black (6) Americana (6) Plymouth Rock (11) Silver Laced Wyandotte (6)
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Facebook a while ago.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Crochet & Reading .. if I had more time and space I would like to sew... and especially learn to quilt but right now I'm interested in growing the best quality layers and meat bird possible---without soy.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. I have 5 children all in the teen years. I work seasonal jobs so that I can be home with my kids in the summer and on breaks.. .plus I like variety. I work at an apple orchard in the fall and prepare taxes in the winter.
