I think I've heard that too...sounds like a plan!Great intro. So glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. I have heard Fayoumi chickens are very resistent to Marek's disease. May be a good idea to breed/have it bred to some of your others to see if it may he somewhat protective for the ofspring..
Thanks! Yes it's a shame we're so far apart. It's actually all the way up to 64 here today, but windy and raining off and on.I enjoyed your "novel" and the stories of all your chicken adoptees. I think you and I would be great friends -- who could feed each others' chicken addiction -- if you were closer to Iowa. Of course, I think you would have to worry about your fayoumis ability to withstand winter here. Today, it is 35 degrees with howling wind. Heck, I'm not liking fall here much!
Welcome to the group; I'm sure you will do well with your new flock. You have the right heart for it.
Thank you! Love the E. Dickinson poem BTW. I actually have that in my one and only book of poetry.Hello there and welcome to BYC!
I wondered about your screen name, which I absolutely love, however after reading about Lucky, your intro really warmed my heart.
Thanks for sharing!
Pull up a roost bar and enjoy all the chicken chat!![]()

Me too! Total bird nut here!May I ask roughly where you are located? I'm near Moriarty.
Oh wow! You're down there a ways. Haven't been that far south since I was a tween!Oh really, Moriarty is a great town! We are outside of Alto. We would love to go north, maybe Abiquiu area?
Yes, I think I'm more bird than human.![]()
