James is actually my given name, not my surname. I taught in Asia for 18 years and my students found my surname too difficult so they just used Mr. James. Visiting lecturers thought I was British until they heard me speak!

Okay, question from the Noob: I want to seal a particle board (walls) and plywood (floor) coop before laying vinyl or linoleum over the floor. What is a good non-toxic sealer. I just painted some interior rooms with semi- gloss paint, but that doesn’t seem like the right stuff.

I would stick with water based polyurethane and let it air for several days prior to using it for chicken housing.
Also, some people put vinyl or linoleum on their walls 1/2 way up. It's makes for easier cleanup behind roosts. I wish I had done so.

That is sooo sweet! We have a Chinese friend and people struggled to pronounce his name…so he calls himself Alan
