I’m a first-time chicken owner and fairly new to the backyard chicken world. I currently have 6 white Silkies that are about 50 days old. I originally got them as a gift for my boyfriend, but I quickly ended up keeping them instead, because the chicks were just way too cute to give up!
Due to the cold weather, I’ve been raising them indoors, which has been a big learning experience but also very rewarding. My favorite part so far is watching their personalities develop and how interactive and sweet they are.
I found the BYC website while searching online because I was worried they might be sick. They’d had diarrhea for a long time, even though they were very active and eating a lot. After reading through so many helpful posts and realizing how knowledgeable and supportive the community is, I finally decided to join. I’m excited to learn more and be part of such an awesome group!
