(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I just was gifted my first three girls yesterday by a neighbor friend.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have three ladies.
(3) What breeds do you have? All three are Road Island Reds.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love knowing where my eggs come from, being able to get to know each of the ladies and learn their personalities, and being able to help my family provide for ourselves more.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy gardening, hiking, camping, and cross country skiing in the winter.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I’m married with two teenage children and an adolescent Shiba Inu dog.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found out from my neighbor friend who gifted us our first chickens, I didn’t know about it until then, but am looking forward to getting to know more about how to give our girls their best life!
