Hello!

I picked up an arctic blue egger in my last batch of chicks. I’ve seen a few examples of them, and the few I’ve seen look like a legbar. I was just wondering if they all look the same? Do they all have crests? Or are they more like Easter eggers? Right now she looks like a small chipmunk chick. She’s the smallest of my chicks.

I believe those are cream legbar & brown Leghorn crosses? I'd expect them to show some traits of both to varying degrees.
That’s what I’ve read- they seem to be similar looking hens as far as coloring. So I’m thinking they’re pretty uniform looking hens?

They have only been selling these for a couple years and I'd imagine they give that disclaimer about egg color so I wouldn't assume these will be as uniform as a more established hybrid. But, they also don't reveal how long they worked on projects before offering them for sale so who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky and someone bought a whole box of them and will share their experience here. I just wouldn't hold my breath on that because they are so new and so limited to, what, one hatchery?

And other hatcheries are working on their own production blue layer so that will certainly make things interesting as some may be more successful than others.
