) I've lived on both the big island and Oahu, and have visited Maui and Kauai and all the islands have choke feral game chickens running around on them. X2 on drumstick diva's advice. Hawaii's feral chickens are tough and I wouldn't expect disease to be a problem, however I would suggest using the "look but don't touch" method of introducing new birds to the flock.
