Hello,
I am new to this site, I joined yesterday. It made me smile to see how many people adore their chickens. I have 7 girls. 3 Dominiques ( I believe), 2 Orphingtons, 1 Road Island Red and one I have not identified yet. I had 5 I let run in the yard while I was home. The neigbors dog killed 2 of my girls. My husband got me the other ones. At first, my 3 girls bullied the new ones so bad. I felt terrible. Things are much better now.
I hope everyone stays cool and I am so glad this site is here. My name is Julie.
My girls names are: Violet, Iris, Poppy, CB (Crooked Bill) and I have not named the other 3 yet. 2 Orphingtons and 1 Road Island Red.

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear the neighbours dog killed 2 of your girls, that must have been an awful experience. It's always very sad when flock meters are lost

Hope you can find ways to keep the dog away from your chickens. It isn't likely his owner will remedy the situation. Since he has already killed birds, he will be anxious to get your others. Your birds may need to be kept in a secure run with cover to protect their lives.

Thank-you! I will get a picture of her and find out what breed she is. I named her CB. Stands for crooked bill, which she has. She eats just fine
