Leg mites? Both of my Brahmas look like this. Foot soaks and petroleum jelly for the girls and then can I use permethrin 10 outside while I have a cat inside? Or should I use elector PSP? Does that cause egg withdraw?

Permethrin 10 and Elector PSP are for body mites and lice, and probably does not work on scaly leg mites. But you could use ivermectin pour on on the back of the neck 0.1 ml for every 2 pounds of weight once, and repeat it in 14 days. It has an egg withdrawal time, and is expensive though. I would probably just continue to apply the petroleum jelly 2-3 days a week until the scales are back to normal. If using inside the coop for lice or mites, it should not affect an indoor cat. But don’t use it if you raise bees.

I was just looking up using Ivermectin pour on for scaly leg mites and found this post.

I do have bees.

Can you explain how Ivermectin pour on used on my chickens might affect the bees? My chickens are enclosed in a coop/run set up. The bee hives are several hundred feet away.

It should be noted that even after the mites have been dealt with, the legs will stll look rough for a while until new scales grow and the old scales shed.
