New member looking for coop placement advice for Central, FL

Welcome to BYC! Where are you keeping that may 6 week olds, without overcrowding, if your coop isn't ready for them? Your going to need at least a 80 sq foot coop with no less that 20 sq foot of ventilation. (That doesn't include nest boxes.) At least one side screened, with 19 GA 1/2" hardware cloth, would be best for your climate.
You're also going to need a covered area for the feeders and waterers.

Besides high ground that drains well, and heavy shade, and good access to clean water, you might also consider lining up your main ventilation with the way most of the (non-storm) winds blow in your area. If you are not sure, check with NationalWeatherService.gov for your area and they will tell you the primary direction of wind flow.

Welcome--we live in Central Florida too- heat & humidity is an issue so make sure as others have pointed to have shaded area - we planted a tree in the front of our run b/c in the summer the afternoon sun hits the front. Also we have alot of woods and predators in the area so we had to make sure they couldn't dig under the run (racoons) and we've had alot if rains lately so were glad we placed coop on higher ground. Good luck ☺
