Hi everyone. I'm a 15 yr old freshman FFA student. I decided to do laying hens as my FFA project. No one in my family has any experience with poultry. I have 73 pullets that are 6 weeks old, 3 of these are meat chicken, balance are layers. I believe I'll settle in at 100 -150 layers and need to build an economical coop and decide where to put it on 100 ac farm. I'm excited about BYC.

Sounds like a fun project!! Have you stopped by our learning center yet? Lots of great tips and articles on keeping poultry from building the coop, caring for chicks and keeping your adult flock happy and healthy...

If you need any help with the few meat birds you have, you can ask questions on our Meat Birds section of the forums for help with raising and processing....
