(I looked it up as well) Yes, consider yourself special!Wow how awesome is that, joining on National Chicken Lady Day lol? I didn't know there was such a day and how befittingI had to go look it up and you aren't kidding. Nov 4!
Thank you again for such a warm welcome.

I have been in more or less the same boat as you. I had my first flock around 50 years ago which were White Leghorns. There were years when we moved for work and lived where we couldn't have any birds. Around 20 years ago we moved to our farm and now I was able to have birds again. I have raised many different breeds, and have done some experimental breeding. I have currently around 300 birds. Every year I hatch out around 200 chicks. I sell most of the males except the ones I keep as breeders at our local farm swap. It helps to offset the feed costs. Now I only raise pure (heritage) birds. I also show my birds at poultry shows, at least until Covid showed up. Since many of the shows have been cancelled. It appears we have a lot in common. Good luck with your flocks and have fun...I use DuckDuckGo too.
But I do enjoy offsetting the little guy from the big guy. Privacy, not so many ads and the list goes on.
