Hi, I'm Debbie. East TX Pineywoods. Have had my chicken coop for over a year. We've let a hen sit and now have 2 new hatchlings. What to do now?

'm worried about the new chicks as they are in the upper part of the coop. The other hens don't go in there except for laying. But it's at least 2 feet off the ground. Went and got the small water container and chick start and chick scratch to put up there. Should I take them down into a new coop area?

Hello nd welcome to BYC. Ideally, yes it would be better for the chicks to have access to the ground as the mother will want to show them what’s good to eat, how to dust bathe etc.
