Did you get testing done with your last flock to know which disease you were dealing with?
Some diseases stay in the soil for years.

I didn't. I am new to chicken illnesses. In all the years I have had chickens I have never had to deal with sick foul. I am lost when it comes to this. I should have it tested. How do I do that.?

Welcome to BYC! Love the leghorns! You will have plenty of fresh eggs!
I'm not sure about getting your soil tested, but I know if you lose any birds to unexplained illness, you can send the body in to your state lab for a necropsy. They will get back to you with the results so that you know what it is you are dealing with, and can watch for symptoms in the rest of your flock.
