My favorite breeds this week are the Sumatras and Seabrights. Don't ask why. The Sumatras are shy and I have trouble getting the hen back in at night, but if something happened to her I would get 3 more hens.

I have Silkies, Seabrights, Sumatras,wht. crested blue polish,red polish, a frizzle polish roo, wht laced kaki polish, silver laced polish roo, 1 sultan roo, deuccle's, Old English Game, ameraucana's, and 1 guinea.

Welcome to the world of raising chickens and all the fun it entails. I got my first ones in April - then two more batches. Now have 13 (if you count Ruth). They all free range our property and used to stay in the woods. Now they're partial to hanging out near the house. Doesn't matter where they are, they must have better hearing than my German Shepherd, because all I have to do is open my back door and they all come running to greet me. I tell myself it's because they love me but it's really because I always have a bag of food and treats for them. I can't imagine not having them around. You'll have a great time with them. Enjoy.
