Hi all,

I am a new member and sm looking for some help. I am new to keeping chickens and have got two Peking Batums, Mr and Mrs Grey, they are always together, and I also have two Polish Fizzle chickens which are adorable and so tame. However as of yesterday one of my Frizzle's (Frazzle) is looking pretty sad, just sitting on his own, I picked him up and checked him over for injury's but cant find anything and later on he seemed to be waling about with the others and was fin again. this morning he hasn't left the chicken coop and is sitting on s perch looking cheesed off again. I've tried outing some food and water in with him but hes not looming interested.... any ideas???? I cant see anything obvious, he's no coughing or leaking and fluids etc.

I'm Sarah by the way in a little village called Mettingham in very windy at the moment Suffolk.
I got my chickens as youngster in the summer and love sitting out with them, not got to do it so much through the winter as they are in bed by the time I come home from work. cant wait until springtime again so I can enjoy my evening brew with them, they are so entertaining and friendly.

Thank you for reading and merry Christmas to all

Sometimes animals, like people, get sick. They either get better or they die. Sorry. If all of them were sick then you would have to look for a reason like something they are eating. But I assume he's eating what the others do. Does he show any signs of injury? Do the other birds pick on him?

I don't have chickens now but I grew up with them. We also had ducks and one time all 5 of them were stumbling around and couldn't hold their heads up. They recovered and we never did find out what they had gotten into.

I read the symptoms but you did not talk about the diet what you feed and what is there for them to forage for

Do you or have you ever put Probiotic in their water ??????

Here try this put your chicken in a cage by them self we are going to measure several things today and one will be water intake and feed intake the other thing will be a poo check,,, color and texture for this we will need a wire floor or a place for it to fall so it can be collected with out being disturbed

Oh one other thing how about making an hardboiled egg and then peal off the shell and smash that up real good and mixing it up in one cup of his normal feed

let's see if he eats this .......

Then tomorrow you can give us a report on water consumption feed intake overall health/mood and a poo reading
