New member with a turkey hatchling problem!!

Thank you all so much for my welcomes.
2 more chicks died unfortunately.
I found out today that the food i have been giving them was only 18% protein, so i have managed to purchase today a 22% protein chick feed, supplier said he can get me a 24% medicated starter chick food tomorrow, i so hope this will be the end of my problems. I have also today built a new pen for the poults with no corners. Also have decided not to put them on straw, so they are on fresh clean towels which i will change daily.
I will keep you informed.
Thank you for your advice.

Fingers crossed!!
i have 19 due to hatch on Saturday
i am thinking about 9 under a turkey outside and leaving the remaining 10 in the incubator to hatch then keep them indoors.
have you ever put eggs under a bird for the last week?
Many thanks

I usually let my peahen or duck get a clutch of their own and try not to add to it nor take away from it. For turkeys I got eggs from a hatchery and then hatched them out and raised them for Thanksgiving.

Another thing that i have done is, i have put a chick feeder in the pen and a foil take away tray (unused obviously!!) with the same new food in it, the one in the foil tray i have also added a little water, and without a doubt they prefer this one. They all seem so much more happier now since my changes today.

Sending good hatching vibes your way
