New Member with questions!!!

I am planning of putting in a chicken coop big enough for only 3 - 4 chickens. Big round Orpingtons are what I am planning on housing ( love them...they are like basketballs with legs!!) Any suggestions on what size coop I sould invest in?

Orps are large fowl so they require at least 4sq feet per bird. I would advise at least the 16 sq feet maybe more to give them some extra room.

Thanks! If I have an enclosure large enough, do they still need to free range? I am a neewbie to all of this,,,so excited, but am nervous about my dogs.

About 10sq feet per hen to roam will be good, more if you can.

from California, only allow your chicken out to roam if your dogs are secured so they can't get to them.
