Hi all and thanks for the add! I have never owned chickens before, but have wanted to for years. This year I take the plunge! Very excited! I live in west central wisconsin on acreage, old farm lots of buildings, just 22 acres.

! Great to have you with us! Congrats on your acreage and getting into chickens. As a newbie to the game you might consider checking out the Learning Center here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center It is loaded with great articles running the range of chicken keeping. And if you'd like to chat with local poultry folk, find the Wisconsin thread in this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you
And if you are still researching breeds of birds, check this link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/products/category/chicken-breeds
Best wishes and enjoy the journey!!

Welcome!

Best wishes to you and your new feathered family when they arrive.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
