Hi all, greetings from Kentucky. I just purchased 12 chicks today. Straight run so I am hoping for more hens then roosters. I had chickens before but it has been several years so I am starting a new flock with new pen and coop.

Well, my Dad has built a coop and hasn't started his flock yet so I am hoping that he may want at least one otherwise I am thinking posting them at the farm store and maybe Craig's list. I could do meat chickens with them but that is not my goal.
 
Hi and welcome :) I've just hatched my first lot of chicks last wknd :) new to the site too. Got my fingers crossed for the both of us on more girls than boys ;)

As you have already received some links to great starting points, I will just wish you and your little ones all the best.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
