Hello, I am new here!
Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am a relative newbie-Ordered our first 5 hens from Meyer Hatchery last May (1 Buff Orpington, 1 Jersey Giant, 1 Barred Rock, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn). The WL ended up being a sweet Roo, whjo died unexpectedly of a broken neck about a month ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Well..... the 4 above. Plus, we received day old chicks in April for Greg (our Roo) because 4 hens were not enough for him (Black Australorp, Buff Orpinton, Columbian Wyandotte, Dark Brahma, Easter Egger, Golden Laced Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex, Barred Rock, White Plymouth Rock). However, when Greg died, I decided to try to hatch some of his eggs (never have done this before). Out of 15 eggs, 14 have hatched as of today, waiting for the last one to pip........

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Cooking, family time, our 2 German Shepherds, studying history.

Married. Two kids. One from China, one from Ethiopia. We celebrate a lot of holidays here! I am a Certified Nurse Practitioner.
